In case you need to connect your laptop to the Internet at work and also at home, on a daily basis, you may find that each connection requires different settings and setup. For example, the Internet connection at work can be automatically configured, while the Internet connection at home requires the user to manually enter the IP configuration. To avoid losing time and effort re-configuring your Internet connection over and over again, you could just use Free IP Switcher, a simple Windows program which, as its name states, allows you to store several configuration profiles for your network and fast switching between them.

When launching the software, you will need to configure one or more of five available network profiles. For this, you will need to enter the IP address, gateway, subnet mask and optionally, a proxy server. You can also configure the network profile to automatically obtain IP settings from a DHCP server. Free IP Switcher can work with several network cards and also supports wireless network adapters without any problems.

After configuring network profiles, you can activate each of them with a single mouse click. What's more, if the five available network profiles are not enough, you can easily add more of them. If you are an experienced computer user, you can access the program configuration file directly and configure network profile settings using this file, without going through the program's interface. From the options window, Free IP Switcher can be configured to start together with Windows and also ask before loading a specific profile or before closing the program.
